After too many years at boarding school she studied literature, art history and linguistics at universities in England, Canada and New Zealand, where she now lives. For ten years she wrote book reviews for a national newspaper as well as feature articles on the outdoors. At different times Laura has been an enthusiastic caver, rock-climber, hiker and kayaker.
