He’s been a tabloid journalist in Sydney, a contributor to Playboy Magazine, a ghostwriter for starchy German managers in Stuttgart, as well as an English high school teacher in Madagascar. He’s also lived in West Africa, where he was a regular at the mask-dance festivals around Ouagadougou and where he had to leave Mali in a hurry on account of a military coup and a bitter dispute over a broken toilet seat at the local markets. These days he works as a science/ medical writer while fooling around with science fiction on the side. view less
