He has been...view moreDr. Robert L. Heichberger is professor emeritus at the State University of New York at Fredonia and an award-winning author. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran. He has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the university and by Marquis Whos Who. Dr. Heichberger has been a teacher, distinguished professor, public school administrator, and university administrator for sixty-seven years. He is a popular newspaper columnist. His wife, Elaine, is a retired teacher and musician. They have two children and six grandchildren. His grandchildren have been an inspiration to him in the writing of his childrens books. He has worked with thousands of students of all ages, from primary age to advanced graduate students. Schools and libraries frequently invite him to read or tell a story to children. He is a popular storyteller and is often invited for a return engagement. These same young children later, when planning their high school graduation, have invited Dr. Heichberger to be their commencement speaker. He is a popular keynote speaker. Dr. Heichbergers major interests are his family, his church, his country, and the several thousand students with whom he has worked over these past many years.
