She is the daughter of the late Howard Hawkins and Thomasina Hawkins. Constance is a single mother with one child Alandous and mother-in-law of Shannon Hawkins. She has two granddaughters, Sydney Ryleigh. Growing up, Constance believed in expressing her extraordinary love to her family and the children she taught. Ms. Hawkins began writing poetry 28 years ago, with a poem titled “Alandous Alligator the Golfer” which gave her the idea for this book.
As a teacher, Ms. Hawkins always felt that phonics were important to the development of reading for children. She wanted to write a story that helped children understand how letters can produce sounds in a fun and engaging way that had never been done before.view less
