She was raised in Montgomery, Alabama, and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. She returned to the place of her birth to attend Auburn University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Education. She continued her education at Auburn University of Montgomery where she received her Master's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. After 25 years of teaching children to love to read and love books, she decided to write a book for children to love. Reading to children and having them read to you is a precious gift. Books open the world to children. Share a book with your child every day. You will love it.
