Schlosser was born in Michigan to a German father and an Irish mother, who raised him to be an Irish-American, in spite of his German last name. He taught at a community college, and was the founder and director of an Irish Foreign Studies Program focusing on the Troubles in the North of Ireland.
Though retired now, he is still active in things Irish. He and his wife travel widely, read avidly, and spend time with their children and their spouses, and grandchildren, in and around the Great Lakes’ State.view less
