She was a feature writer with...view moreCarolyn G. Furio resided in Woodstown, New Jersey for most of her life with her husband Joseph and four children Brian, Melissa, Robert and Joseph II. She was a feature writer with local newspapers for many years and won countless awards in the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs annual Creative Writing Competitions. Carolyn was a member of the Society for Poets of Southern New Jersey and the New Jersey Poetry Society. She was commissioned to write two historical narrative poems for the Salem County Historical Society entitled The Salem Oak and The Hancock House, and was informally called the Poet Laureate of Salem County.
