Evidence of their bounteous giving and mission funding was obvious, but who were they beyond their gifts? He compiled all kinds of interesting stories as he dug ever deeper using the church’s archives and Philadelphia’s numerous historical research facilities. His skills as a researcher for his PhD from the University of Chicago, interest in people as training officer for the Peace Corps, and writing as a journalism major guided him. His last book, “As It Was Written: The New Testament in Chronological Order,” was published by Xlibris in 2008.view less
