He is a two-time recipient of the Distinguished Professor Award and former President of the Youngstown State University Chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, former President of the Black faculty and staff Association(BFSA) of the University, and recipient of the Mary Bethune Award by the Youngstown Chapter of the Association of Negro Women. He is currently a Board member of the Ohio North East Health System, where he served as Board chair., and is a member of the University Diversity Council.view less
