The Central Park Zoo was close by and its coterie of creatures became a favorite spot for the young family that soon included 3 younger siblings. The animals were curious and exotic and enchanting; thus began a lifelong love of the environment and wildlife. When it was time to start school his family moved 25 miles North to the suburban city of White Plains, NY., in Westchester County. He first attended the North Street School where Miss Rae nurtured a love of reading and learning and exploring ideas that continues unabated until today. The author today makes his home in Coconut Grove FL, where he enjoys nature, conservation, and Florida’s abundant natural diversity. Manatees, dolphins, alligators, iguanas, ibises and pelicans are favorites he looks forward to observing, and writing about too.view less
