She began her career as an E-1 in the U.S. Army, where she worked as a medic and went on to become an NBCR officer. She was also the Deputy Director of her local ESDA. After an injury, Jean retired as a first lieutenant and began exploring the challenges of recovery and endurance, working to claim new pathways of service and meaning. As one of the co-hosts for the award-winning PodcastDX, she loves researching different diagnoses to feature each week and talking with guests from around the world. Her wry sense of humor has been bolstered by bureaucracy, and her head and spine by nuts, bolts, and two titanium bars.view less
