The author of several succe...view moreHana Demetz was born in Czechoslovakia in 1928 and was educated in Prague. She lived through the Holocaust and in 1949 became an editor for Radio Free Europe in Germany. The author of several successful novels published in Germany, Demetz is best known for The House on Prague Street, a classic novel of the Eastern European experience in the early days of Nazi aggression. Demetz now lives in Connecticut and is a Lector in Czech at Yale University.view less
