Prior to his appointment, Hitch was Chairman of the Research Council of the RAND Corporation. He was Vice-President of the American Economic Association, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the author of America's Economic Strength and The Economics of Defense in the Nuclear Age. view less
