She knew she wanted to be a writer at an early age. Before dedicating herself to the craft, she made ends meet reading tarot cards, delivering pizza, nannying, and eventually earning a master's in elementary education and teaching fifth grade. Zane's debut novel The Magic of Moon and Herbs is a finalist for the 2023 Gertrude Warner Award. Zane lives in Portland, Oregon with her spouse, their inquisitive and hilarious kiddo, and Artemis the pug. When she's not writing, reading, or listening to audiobooks, she enjoys gardening, knitting, drawing, yoga, and magic making.view less
