To salve his soul in a family wracked by Alzheimer's, autism, and dementia, he has authored six books and contributed to a compilation of film reviews, Seen That, Now What. He has also written more than 150 columns for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Courier Post, and other publications, and blogs on subjects ranging from the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris to Victorian Christmases.
