    Introduction

I sat in the little pink waste can for this picture however, I could not get out. Dad had to cut me out. My sister thought it was funny and I cried for a year.

Decades ago, families would keep their distinguished senior relatives at home until death, as they were considered the patriarch and matriarch of the family. It’s quite a different scenario than compared to that of today, as families are busy with the hustle and bustle of running to kid’s soccer, baseball, volleyball and basketball games. Many families have at least one parent working 10 or more hours per day to pay the bills. We are consumed with cell phones, laptops, iPods, and MP3 players; yes, times have changed. It is a challenge to work and find enough time to keep a senior safe at home.

Many adult children are confused about where to go for help in planning for the care of their elderly parents. How can you keep your loved one at home? What is home health? Which home health agencies might be hired? When is it time to suggest moving into independent or assisted living?

This systematic book will assist you in setting up a proactive plan for the future. I recommend that you start educating yourself and making choices as soon as possible. This research
