I think that most of us reach a point along one’s life journey when you reflect on the important things in life, such as our legacy and heritage. For me, I've been pondering those thoughts for awhile and decided to do something about it. Austria is the land of my birth, and one that has left me with a very rich heritage. It's been many years in between my birth and now and much life has passed - all for the good. I was born in Vienna, which my family left for Brazil during the occupation after WWII. Afterwards, we moved to the U.S., where I've lived for fifty years. To me it's been an interesting journey; growing up and learning different cultures and languages, and all the while taking in glimpses of my Austrian heritage. Today, I must say that I'm very proud to be an American citizen, and at the same time be grounded in my Austrian heritage.
For me, after all these years, it's time to re-acquaint myself with the land of my birth and this book is a start. Whether it's the spectacular scenery or great stops along the River Danube,
