Memories of a Stolen Life

About this ebook
As a young woman of just 18, Alicia was the target of a purse snatching. Within a short period of time an identity thief took over her life and Alicia's nightmare began. This has left her having to fight an ever lasting battle in which the after-math contains both new and reoccurring events. It is a nightmare that never seems to end.
"Please take heed to what I am telling you so that you do not have to go through what I did."
Alicia constantly asked, "Why would someone want to be me? I'm just a college student. I don't have money."
Sometimes Identity Theft is not about the crime but about the emotions of those involved… that is what the Stolen Lives Series is about. It is about understanding WHY the crimes take place. George Greenwood has been able to put that into words.

To our Families, who through their love and understanding, we receive strength, knowing that there are times when it is okay to be carried on our pathway of life… and by being carried, we accept their strength that becomes our courage to rebuild our life after such a tragedy.
After all, strength is not something owned,
Strength only has true power when it is shared.
Dedication
Memories
is dedicated to all those people that have fallen prey to an act of identity theft. Hopefully this story will inspire you to realize identity theft, fraud and other related abuses can happen to any of us and can happen anywhere at any time. I wish to pay tribute to Chris Willis by offering her a very special Thank You
for introducing me to Alicia so her compelling story could be told in this way. I hope you take heed to her message because ID theft rarely provides a warning.
My desire for you is that you are never victimized by anyone, through identity abuse or in any other way. If you do become a victim, I hope you have the strength of attitude, persistence, perseverance and character as Alicia has shown us all.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the STOLEN LIVES
series is to make you think
! We must all realize that our lives are just a breath away from change, no matter what side of the law we are on. All it takes is a single action, or a misguided thought to change our lives forever. All too often, the change could have nothing to do with our actions but has everything to do with an action by someone else to you and is often beyond our control.
Memories
shows that any of us can have our lives altered by a single action by someone else. It also shows that way too often, this single action leads to a series of events that can take years (if ever) to untangle.
It is up to each of us to accept what needs to change in our own lives so that we can live with confidence, security and safety. First and foremost, we must practice awareness. We cannot do anything about what we are not familiar with.
We must press our governments, at all levels, to provide legislation that adds to, and insures, that we have the confidence in the security and safety that our Constitution and the Charter or Bill of Rights provides us with. Technology has changed the world and our laws must reflect these changes.
Once this legislation is in place, we must hold law enforcement to be accountable with the judicial muscle to enforce our protective laws.
Considering the different perspectives presented in the Stolen Lives
series, along with our keeping Your Identity Safe
educational seminars, is to make an impact on our society, no matter how large or small, in order to make this a better place in which to live, bring up our families and
