Chapter 1

The Centerbury Church was growing; every week, more and more people were showing up, ready to serve the Lord. On top of that, people were giving their hearts to Jesus. The new pastor was attracting new lost souls at an almost alarming rate. How glorious this would be for the church! The growth was incredible. But that wasn't the only growth, so Tim often had to watch his wandering mind whilst at the lectern.

Tim was the new pastor—a position he held now for almost a year—and he was everything that the church needed. He was slick and smooth talker, always able to relate the messages of hope in an easy-to-digest form. People were getting closer to Jesus every time he spoke. They loved to hear his messages, which were a perfect blend of comedy and seriousness. Sure, the gospel was always a very serious thing. But without moments of laughter, people would have a difficult time dealing with concepts like eternity and damnation, especially when they were so burdened by the other challenges of the world. And yet, Tim was burdened too. It got harder and harder for him every day.

Sex had become somewhat of a rarity for him. He hadn't even hit forty yet, but his sex life had declined like he was about turn 100. Tim's wife Samantha was truly everything that he needed. She was beautiful and full-figured, just the way Tim liked it. He definitely was a breast-man, and Samantha had it where it counts. She was physically fit, and was a good mother to their one adopted child. Tim was infertile, something that would have made most people a bit ashamed or afraid to admit. But he dealt with it the best he could, making efforts to adopt instead of producing his own children. God would certainly appreciate his efforts! The absence of contraception certainly made sex great—but only when it actually happened. Like most men, Tim loved to explore the inside of his wife without a condom and leave his seed inside of her, even if it would never bring her a child. It still made him feel powerful and manly.

Samantha was a busy woman, stretched between a great job as a writer and raising their young, adopted daughter Molly. And on top of that, Tim's church was expanding. Every week, more and more people showed up and became included in a variety of clubs and other services that took place during the week. The members of Tim's church frequently asked him to show up to their meetings and he often did. God's kingdom was growing, and so were the responsibilities of Tim.
