I certainly need to acknowledge that there have been many wonderful, godly, wise and intelligent individuals I have learned from over the years. My professors, teachers and pastors, as well as friends and family have taught me about the Christian walk and the Bible. Anything good and helpful from this manual is because of their teaching and influence and anything that has missed the mark is my own unintentional doing. Last of all, but certainly not least, my wife, Carol, and sons, Jonathan and Stephen, have been the greatest influences in making me a better person. T.G.B.T.G.

If anyone did, it was only because they were warned of its presence, its desires and its ways. If they mastered it, rather than being mastered by it, it was because they were trained in the perfect methods of self-defense that effectively protected them from its lethal attack. Would she become its slave or it become her cruel master? Would she even survive its wounds? That is yet to be determined, because she is you. She is me!
The above scene is adapted from the book of Genesis in the Bible, specifically from Genesis 4:1-7 which reads:
