Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden is an award winning (Telly Award, LA Web Festival Award, and Webby Honoree) teen web series produced by 20/20 Productions.
Otessa Marie Ghadar
A DC native, Otessa has fond memories of its grunge-era. Her teen years were spent serenaded by Morrissey, with much singing into her hairbrush and creating new and marvelous mischief with her best friend. She remembers mix-tapes and Sassy magazines... missing the last Metro, and getting stuck miles from payphones. Her youth was full of teen magic. ...and she remembers it as though in Super 8: warm and soft... and potentially set to Donovan music. These are the things she tries to express in her writing and filmmaking. (Most known for award-winning "Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden", which is all about teens growing up/getting down/coming out in the 90s. Currently writing a 70s-inspired SF story, told through the eyes of a young girl.) Check OJinBG.com for more. _________And now for the more "professional stuff"_______________ Otessa Ghadar is the creator and director of web series "Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden," which follows the lives of D.C. teens growing up and getting down in the 1990's. Ghadar completed her Graduate Film studies, at Columbia University's Film school in NYC. "Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden" started as her MFA Thesis, and grew from there. Returning to her D.C. roots, the series is an example of "writing what you know." It is inspired by memories of Ghadar's own teenage years in D.C. -- part recollection, part urban legend, and part pure fiction. Ghadar continued "Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden" in 2008 to focus on the other side of our nation's capital, and to occasionally lure Jack & Jill off the Hill. Currently in its 6th season, the series has been named an Official Honoree of the 2012 Webby Awards, and has won a 2011 Telly Award, one 2012 LA Web Fest award, two 2011 LA Web Series Festival Awards (for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Cinematography in a Drama Series), and received a 2010 Indie Intertube Ensemble Drama Award nomination, in addition to a nomination for "Outstanding Ensemble" in the 2nd annual Indie Soap awards. The story has also received media buzz and a cult following for its positive representation of LGBT youth.

character breakdowns:
THE XX’s
Sarah, 15: Snarky, has a vague problem with authority, not an alpha but is in the 'right' group. Kind of a dreamer. Occasionally stubborn, but still gives too much.
Kris (Kristina), 15: Sarah's counterpart, but with lax-er parents and a later curfew, but is oddly less comfortable around boys. She comes from a ethnically blended family and has a white mom and black step-dad. Her family is the TV portrait of marital bliss...except for her step-brother. She has a strained relationship with her domineering older step-brother, Colin, but she makes up for it by being tight with her mom and step-dad.
Maggie, 16: A drama queen in the best possible way. Was Sarah's best friend, but now Kris seems to be taking that title...? Has a tendency to call dibs
on boys who she has no real relationship with.
Roxanne, 15: Possesses almost too much self-confidence, considers herself 'exotic'. Others have called her weird looking. She glides by on charm, and likes older guys. If you asked her, she would describe herself as an old money belle.
Beth, 15: Consistently plagued with feelings of being second fiddle. Actually plagued by her sister, Hunter. Constantly bemoaning her plight.
Yasmine, 16: A kleptomaniac, lives in a McMansion, would love to be in the other girls' group, but they don't trust her enough to let her in. They will go to her parties though, which are always great.
Hunter, 18: Beth's older sister. Too cool for cool. Kind of scary.
THE XY’s
Ryan, 15: A total jerk and a clown, but the type who ends up being completely fine later in life. An instigator.
Tripp, 15: Doesn't say much but doesn't need to, has a commanding presence, comes from a broken home, he respects women and they in turn love him back, the alpha male of their class.
Jacob, 15: Popular but not an alpha-male, kind of a boy scout, athletic.
Travis, 15: Dangerous, funny, kind of
