Preface
Guide books or book notes are primarily written to make students understand the original text better, especially from all those angles which are often overlooked by a casual reader.
But, in the recent years it has been noticed that a very large majority of the students, without reading the original texts, rely on the guide books or notes prepared by their teachers or others. This is definitely not a healthy habit because students do pass their exams with the help of such notes; they miss so many things which haunt them in their later lives.
I would strongly advise all students to read the original text once again even if you have already read it, after reading this short treatise. You will see that the same story, after reading this treatise, will begin to give many new meanings to you.
All the best.

Robert Oxton Bolt, CBE was born on 15th of August, 1924, Sale, Cheshire. He was a highly popular playwright. Bolt was the recipient of two Oscar awards for the best screenwriter.
The most famous works written by Robert Bold are Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago and A Man for All Seasons.
While studying at Manchester Grammar School, Robert Bolt developed his affinity for Sir Thomas More. Having completed school education, he went to the University of Manchester.

His first play The Flowering Cherry was launched in London in 1958. Bolt mostly wrote screenplays for films or televisions. His work A Man for All Season
brought him name and fame and established him as a playwright in the world of English Drama.
The protagonists in his plays were depicted as being in tension with the prevailing society. Starting from A Man for All Seasons
he developed it in his script for Lawrence of Arabia. Many predecessors had failed in their attempt to produce Lawrence but Bolt succeeded.
Bolt was arrested by the authorities for protesting against nuclear proliferation. He was told to sign a document that he would not engage in such activities again, but he refused. As a result he was sent to jail for one month.
Only after two weeks of imprisonment, Sam Spiegel, the producer of the Lawrence of Arabia film tried to persuade him to sign the document that he
