Chapter 1
Newly divorced, Sarah and her ten year old son Seth are on their way to meet with a realtor and take a look at a house that she found online that was listed for what she thought was a really good price, it was a nice looking ranch style home set in a really nice neighborhood.
On their way to meet with the realtor at the house, Seth is talking all about living in a new place with just his mom and himself, and telling her all about how he is going to make new friends when he goes to his new school. They were both really looking forward to starting a new life with just them two and getting away from the abusive alcoholic father that he has to this point grown up knowing.
They arrive at the house, and upon pulling up into the drive they both see the house and really like what it looks like from the outside. It had its well manicured lawn, and nice siding, and it just really seemed to blend right in with all the other well maintained homes in the block.
Sarah meets the realtor for the first time, and they make a little small talk, then they all go inside to have a look around. Sarah is being given a tour of the home by the realtor, and Seth just kind of tags along his mothers’ side, and checks out the home. They are shown through the house and they both really like what they see.
After getting the tour, and getting back into the car Sarah asks Seth what he thought about the house. Seth told his mother that he did like the house and there was plenty of room in his new bedroom for all his toys and that he really did want to live there.
After getting back to their apartment, Sarah had made up her mind, and got back in contact with the realtor. Not wanting to let such a house get away for no more than the asking price was, she told the realtor that she wanted to go ahead and make an offer for the full asking price of the home.
After several weeks of anxious waiting, moving day had finally come for Sarah and Seth. They didn’t have too many things to pack, as Sarah was basically starting over after the divorce. But they packed the possessions
