The nightclub was packed. Hot, sweat-drenched bodies were heaving to the throbbing hip hop music. Brilliant, multi-colored lights strobed across the dark, smoke-filled space, illuminating the sweaty stretch of a feminine back here and there. A man’s laughing face raised toward the ceiling in celebration. A couple grinding together on the dance floor like they were trying to make a baby right then and there.

With her arms over her head, Isabel Bennett danced with her sister, the wild beat of the music echoing her heartbeat as she gyrated her body and rocked her hips. Her sister, Nella, threw her head back, flinging her white blonde hair over her shoulders and down her back, howling at the ceiling. The silver-sequined dress on her voluptuous body reflected back the strobe lights of the club, the packed dance floor, tiny miniatures of Isabel’s dark beauty.

This is great! Isabel shouted to be heard above the music. I’m so glad you suggested we go out tonight.
