When the Soul Awakens - Dumi Senda

I’m here not to showcase sadness

Or to fill with pennies the charity hat

Here not to evoke or provoke emotion

    Or to guilt play

    I’m here to brick lay

    Here for hope

    Here for justice

For the children of the world

    I am

    Here not to preach

    but to practise

I’m here for hearts to unzip

    Before mouths open to speak

Here for this is it, my calling

    Wallets before planets

    our falling

I’m here so you can be

    So we can be

    So they can be

    I’m here

    Yes I am

    Here and now

So they know not a frown

    The face of death

Is too ugly for children to face

I’m here to wipe the tears

    Could not be anywhere else

    A Bit Of Poetry

    A bit of poetry

A bit of poetry, what they say

A bit of poetry, what they call it

Just a bit, yes a bit of poetry!

Hold on a bit, the bit they refer to

Cannot be from my bit of the world

For you see where-off I stem

Poetry moves mountains and drowns seas yes

More vicious than bubbling magma it is

A bit of an enigma I admit

But only to a deadbeat few who refuse

Poetry has the power to blow any fuse

I refuse to be labelled a poet a bit of poetry

    who spans

Call it floetry or a bit of fun

Then pray my words do not give you a bit

Of a nosebleed like a boxer, son!

Yes my verses are mazes, not because
