About this ebook
Portia Richmond had been obsessed with fashion her entire life. Growing up in South Los Angeles, she was only miles away from the most expensive houses in America and enough wealth and materialistic goods to make anyone jealous. Her mother was hard working as a custodian at Los Angeles International Airport, while her father worked two jobs as an electrician to keep the roof over the heads of Portia and her two sisters, as well as food on the table.
Another factor of Portia’s parents stood out – her mom, an African American natural beauty married her father, a white man with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Portia was exotic in her appearance having beautiful golden brown hair and hazel eyes, her long limbs looking modelesque since she was in junior high.

They had what they needed to live comfortably, but the area was far from ideal and there was never any leftover money for luxuries. From an early age, luxury always caught Portia’s eye and it was something she talked about with her mother. Her mother was always a comforting woman and let Portia go on and on about the latest runway show or fashion advertisement. Her mother laughed at her. There was always a joke in the family that Portia was dropped by the stork who, of course, was wearing a Ralph Lauren bowtie. Portia stuck out in the family, but in a good way. She could rattle off any designer simply by looking at a dress silhouette or pattern, and she was just as excited for the Academy Awards red carpet as she was for Christmas morning.
