About this ebook

After missing her rent payments, Catherine Clark risks losing her apartment and the only remaining family she has. However, mysterious real estate mogul, Matthew Cain, contacts her with an offer that sounds too good to be true. Intrigued by the handsome yet reclusive man’s charitable offer, she agrees to meet with the young billionaire. However, the young woman soon learns that the hot-tempered Mr. Cain isn’t satisfied with owning a vast property empire. He plans on owning her body as well.

Trading a lease for a leash, Catherine reluctantly enters a total power exchange with Mr. Cain. He will decide everything from her appearance to her schedule. As his newly collared slave, she soon learns of Mr. Cain’s dark side. Employing a host of sexual implements, he punishes her for the smallest of mistakes and perceived slights. The billionaire’s business acumen is only matched by his cruelty. His skill at his art brings Catherine to new extremes of emotion. She struggles to reconcile her growing attraction to her new Master and her begrudging enjoyment of her punishments.

The strong-willed woman stirs something deep within Matthew Cain’s heart. Furious at her defiance, he leashes her like a feral animal. Nonetheless, she catches a glimpse of the kindness buried deep within his heart. Abandoned and betrayed by the people he loved, the times have changed him for the worst. Can a woman’s love change him back?

EXPICIT: This 18,000 word story contains graphic BDSM imagery such as bondage, leashes, whipping, spanking, humiliation, and wax play. It may be too intense and vivid for some to handle!

EXCERPT:

“Your looks are immaterial to me,” he stated, folding his arms. “I need you to be emotionally capable of doing what I ask. Otherwise, I will be forced to cancel our arrangement.”

“Oh my God,” I cried out, covering my face. I think I needed a counter for how many times I said or thought that today. “You’re going to treat me like some whore.”

“I need you to be emotionally capable of working under me,” he said, casually dismissing my concerns. He steadied me by putting his hand on my shoulder. “Let’s have a test run. Please undress yourself.”

“You’re crazy,” I said, slack jawed at the demand. I batted his hand away too little effect. “Absolutely crazy. I’m leaving this place. I’m leaving you and your contract. Goodbye.”

“I wasn’t asking,” he stated, grabbing my shoulder and sitting me down. The contact between our bodies was like an electric shock. No one had ever been so brazen and rough with me. The reaction brought out strange new emotions from deep within me. It was as though I was a color blind woman who saw the world in color for the first time. I looked at him as if to reason with him. The intensity in his eyes stopped my breath cold. Suddenly, I knew what this was all about. This wasn’t a mere sexual peccadillo for him. This was the new baseline he expected. He wanted power over me. He wanted ownership over my body and my mind. “Now undress.”

Please Mr. Hollis, just give me a few more days, I cried out. Hot tears fell like a downpour on my face. I’ll get the money. I know the lease is ending but I just need more time.

I’m sorry Catherine, Mr. Hollis said, folding his arms together. He was a large, pudgy man. His frame blocked the door. I knew that this was the end if the Superintendent of the place came to see me. I’m afraid you are out of time. I’ve extended the deadline as far as possible. It’s collecting time and I have to collect.

We have no other place to stay, I said, desperation in my voice. The ‘we’ referred to me and my little sister, Mary. After the death of my parents in a car crash, I was awarded custody of my sister. She was only ten and had been through so much. Please let us stay. I am begging you.

There isn’t anything more we can do, he stated. He was getting agitated at my defiance. If you don’t have the money in by today then we will have to evict you by the end of the week.

This isn’t to say that I was awarded custody without any difficulties. Back then, I was a nineteen year old who had to drop out of college in order to deal with the death of her parents. There were bills to pay and we were falling behind well before the death of my parents. Now a twenty-one year old, I had to take two jobs in order to make ends meet. We didn’t have any immediate family members who could help us. I was afraid I would lose Mary to a foster home or some halfway house. However, the judge ruled in our favor. He understood the importance of family. He didn’t want to see Mary and I separated. I wanted to make sure his judgment was the right one.

I’ll work more shifts, I said. I already worked as a cashier at a small clothing store and as a waitress at a certain Darden Restaurant known for cheddar biscuits. I’ll let you guess which one. Just know that the pay was lousy at both jobs. The tips were even lousier. Even I knew when I was starting to sound desperate. I can get another job.

Miss Clark, I know you don’t have the schedule for another job, he said, frustration in his voice. He knew I was working most of the time. The exhaustion was evident on my face. It was hard enough to meet you in person. You’re barely at home with two jobs. You’re leaving your sister alone all to fend for herself.

His words stung me. The truth behind them upset me the most. In spite of what I told myself, my commitment to my job led me to neglect Mary. I was seeing less and less of her. We couldn’t even be together on weekends because of my jobs. I was working so hard to keep a home which I barely lived in. I was destroying the family I swore to protect.

Mary and I lived in a one of a series of large, three story apartment complexes composed of two dozen different sections. It wasn’t anything to write about but it wasn’t a slum. It was a nice enough place for Mary. It was close to her school and a park was not far off. She loved the nearby woodland forest and the deer that inhabited it. In spite of her maturity, I was scared she would go off exploring it. I strictly forbade her from playing in it.

We’ve helped you as much as we are legally required, Mr. Hollis said, holding his hand out to count. Tears continued to spill down my cheeks. We have given you the appropriate income bracket for your household’s rent. We have gone through your parents’ deposit. You have repeatedly fall behind your rent payments. We have extended your payment period several times. If you cannot pay today then I suggest you start packing your bags. I assure you that I can get proper tenants to occupy this household.

The ring of a cell phone interrupted our conversation. I knew it wasn’t mine. My cell phone had been disconnected months ago. I could not afford the bills. Mr. Hollis grabbed his black cell phone and looked at the name on the display. His eyes widen once he saw it. I was afraid they would fall out of their sockets.

I have to take this, he said breathlessly, hitting a button to accept the call. It’s very important.

I took this opportunity to look around our home. The place had fallen into disarray. The carpet was matted and held several stains. Dust had settled on the furniture. I was normally a diligent cleaner. My two jobs changed
