Flights in Dreams and falls in Reality

About this ebook
Every person on Earth is in daily (or more precisely, nightly) contact with the great mystery of his existence. This, of course, is not about sex. This is about our dreams. Since ancient times, people have been trying to unravel the mystery of this phenomenon. How many books have been written on this topic? Various scientific, religious, esoteric and philosophical movements have each in their own way provided humanity with their interpretation. So I myself wanted to sort this out. It all started with the fact that somewhere in the middle of 1997, I decided to write down my dreams. I do not even remember anymore what prompted me to be fixated on dreams or why it was at that exact time (although there is one explanation, of which I will write in a following chapter). And the most interesting thing is that I would write on a regular piece of paper (that is to say, I wasn't taking this too seriously).
One day a question arose. Is there at least one person in the world who could remember his very first dream? Of course, the answer is negative. It is even unclear in what period of life dreams begin to occur. Most likely, it’s different for everyone. Perhaps in the first year of life, maybe later... And maybe even in the mother's womb? But there are people who remember the first dream that they remember (pardon the pun).

1. My First Dream
Most likely, it's different for everyone. Perhaps in the first year of life, maybe later... And maybe even in the mother's womb? But there are people who remember the first dream that they remember (pardon the pun).
On that note, I would like to tell a story. It was in 1962 in the center of Baku—the capital of Azerbaijan (one of the republics of the former Soviet Union, or USSR). There was a street called Basin on which were one-story and two-story buildings that had been built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The City Council decided to demolish some of the houses on this street, including the house in which our family lived. The common practice for the government at the time was an episode, the kind that happened to several families—our family found itself in the street, and I (then three years old) found myself in a 24-hour kindergarten.
And so I...
Objective Reality
The children in the 24-hour kindergarten were under the care of nannies and governesses five days a week. On weekends, parents picked up their children.
Subjective Reality
The nanny wakes me up in the middle of the night. My bed is wet. All of the children are sleeping peacefully in their beds. The nanny takes my hand, leads me out of the sleeping chamber and along the corridor, which seems to me infinitely long. The corridor is lit by dim light. All this time, she is talking to me. I only remember that the tone towards me was hostile. Finally we get somewhere, and she drags me in. It is the laundry room. Inside, the light is not lit, but it is not dark. The whole room is somehow lit up, and reddish reflections dance on the walls. My view is literally riveted to the source of all this. Right in front of us there are three white stone ovens, on which stand boilers with cooking linens in them. The phrase which takes me out of the torpor and stands out in my mind from the general flow of battle in my direction was: If this happens once more, I will put your naked booty on the stove.
The Dream
I clearly see the courtyard in front of the kindergarten, surrounded with a green fence and a gate made of metal rods. My father appears; he passes through the courtyard towards a door of a one-story building and goes inside it. In a darkened hallway, he runs into the nanny and has a raised-voice conversation with her.
Subjective Reality
I remembered this dream for the rest of my life. One day when I was discussing the episode with my mother, she told me that one day as she was taking me from the kindergarten for the weekend, I had complained to her about the nanny, and most importantly, I had begged her not to tell dad. She did so, and took care of the establishment's staff herself.
Later, after doing sleep yoga for several years and by recording my dreams, I reached a certain conclusion; in the distant year of 1962, I had unwillingly changed the future. It is unclear how all this would have ended if my father had known everything. By his nature, he was an unpredictable man.
This is another important point. Thanks to this dream, I remember the yard, the fence, the gate and even how the nanny looked. Do not just think that I am suffering from cryptomnesia—i.e., memory impairment where one can't tell the difference between events that actually occur and events that are seen in dreams.
2. And at the funeral there was rock music playing
If a person does not practice sleep yoga, he cannot remember his dreams, except for certain cases. There is something these dreams have in common that I remembered until 1997. First, I told these dreams to someone. Secondly, the dreams were accompanied by a storm of emotions. Here
