About this ebook

All offices serve packaged water, considering that they are doing "good" for employees. But, the reality ceases this belief. Packaged drinking water literally contains no minerals and thus is robbing people of essential minerals. These minerals are very important for proper functioning of a human body. Soft water is required to create foam, so it is good water for washing clothes. That does not mean that this water is good for humans. We are not soaps, we are human beings and we need minerals. So drinking low mineral water or distilled water must be completely avoided should not be used for drinking. This book will help you understand what kind of water you need to drink. Many books on this subject may just tell you about a typical type of water and then will leave you with lots of information but not exactly what water should be used for drinking and cooking. This book will help you understand what water you should drink, and does leave you on crossroads as to which water is good for drinking. This book also gives you an overview of what elements must be present in drinking water. It also helps you to manage the water you are drinking even if you are traveling. It is a book for what water you should drink in very simple words.

This book will help you understand what kind of water you should drink.

Rig Veda, has described the properties of good drinking water as follows:

    Sushihi (clean),

Sivam (should have nutritive value, requisite minerals and trace elements),

    Istham (transparent),

Vimalam lahu Shadgunam (its acid base balance should be within normal limits)"

    Chapter 1: Memories

Being in a chemical engineering and technology college, we played smell, name the chemical, as the sticker would have been burnt or discoloured by the chemical. Observation: Smell pungent, guess the chemical. We lived in all pungent and not-so-good smells.

I love dogs. Irrelevant information. I am used to smelling everything, water, food, if its not good I won't eat. Today, I am travelling, it's raining really well. MSRTC people gave me small tiny packaged drinking water bottle. I opened this bottle, eeww, it just smelt of chlorine. So much chlorine! Are they purifying drainage water?

I obviously cannot drink it, as it did not smell familiar as drinking water. I, Being a Punekar, would expect it to smell a bit sweet, and no chlorine. Others may expect something else. Who cares, what others expect! Today I was commuting to college in Mumbai from Pune. I just wondered why the water is chlorinated so much. But, this wondering came to an instant halt as rains and waterfalls interested me more.

Today, I was at office. Thinking, Out of all places on earth, I had to land up in Bangalore, and that too North Bangalore, a village!! With all those kad-kad-kad sounds of kannada! With my throat constantly being beaten by micro-organisms! I have stopped drinking water which the office provides. I spend every day Rs.30/- on packaged water. A thousand rupees on water per month! As if the other expenses were less, I had to add one more to
