      Colors and sunlight fused and blurred as Sara twirled her new dress about to the delighted approval of her closest friend, Mia. The dress was just one of many gifts her lover bestowed upon her. Tilting sideways as the world tried to catch up with her sudden halt, Sara grimaced. She had the weirdest sensation of déjà vu. The dress fell to the floor as Mia reached to steady her.

      What’s the matter, Sara? You’ve been looking paler each day. Have you been to the doctor?

      Sara couldn’t understand why the flash of terror crossing Mia’s face seemed eerily familiar. The dizziness that should have stopped with her twirling thumped relentlessly behind her lids.
