About this ebook
"Government is the people's business, and every man, woman, and child becomes a shareholder with the first penny of tax paid" is only one of the striking quotes from the man that many consider one of our greatest presidents. President Reagan was arguably the most quotable president in the history of the United States. We hope you enjoy reading these quotations as much as we enjoyed compiling them.

President Ronald Reagan
1911-2004
Ronald Reagan was born to Nelle and John Reagan in Tampico, Illinois. He attended high school in nearby Dixon, Ill., and than worked his way through Eureka College, studying economics and sociology.
He played on the school’s football team, and acted in school plays. Upon graduation, he became a radio sports announcer. In 1937, a screen test and a contract brought him to Hollywood.
He was elected Governor of California by a one-million vote margin in 1966 and served for two terms, and then was elected President of the U.S. in 1980, and became one of the most beloved Presidents ever to hold the office.

The defense policy of the United States is based on a simple premise: The United States does not start fights. We will never be an aggressor. We maintain our strength in order to deter and defend against aggression–to preserve freedom and peace.
Every item in our defense program–our ships, our tanks, our planes, our funds for training and spare parts–is intended for one all-important purpose—to keep the peace.
"We maintain the peace
