The elevator. Boston
Introduction
From beyond the administrative limits of Boston, capital of the state of Massachusetts, in the fifties and sixties, the residential areas were built. In one of these areas, the council decided to allocate them to the mall.
Poseidon is the name given to one of these first skyscrapers, there are the offices of major American and European banks and several insurance companies. There is a hotel restaurant on the 25th floor, while the first floor there are shops, bars and a well-stocked library.
The parking lots are two: a basement that can hold more than 400 machines and a smaller one in the square opposite the entrance of the building.
In Poseidon, there are seven small capacity elevators, located at various strategic points of the structure, but the elevator more important, more beautiful, more functional is located in the center of the skyscraper. This elevator can carry more than twenty people at a time. It has two openings for entry and exit and can reach a top speed of five meters per second.
In one of these apartments is the office of Italy Style. George Fratta, forty, managers and successful man, he works there.
Our story begins at the end of a cold day of December 10, 1975.
CHAPTER 1
George Fratta was tired but satisfied: he had completed a major deal. It was someone there. His parents, from there, they could be proud of him.
He was born in America but he felt a strong connection to Italy, they were rooted. He missed. He had to decide finally to go to Italy, to Bellazona.
Somewhere there had to be a few more distant relative.
He took some papers from his desk and went into the other room. There was only Alysia Drani, the secretary, the others had already left a little ' of time. George put the papers on the desk of Drani who was on the phone with a customer. He was a little stop to hear, and then walked away.
He was alone with his thoughts and his longing to look through the large window of his office on the twentieth floor of the Poseidon the endless expanse of skyscrapers. The secretary stopped talking on the phone and began to see documents that her employer had brought.
The phone rang again.
Italian Style ...
I'm Susan. Give me George,
she ordered the woman, and decided in no uncertain terms.
Sure,
replied Alysia with gentle ways.
Mr. Fratta! His wife on the phone,
she said, raising her voice, the blonde secretary.
Uh, my wife. Yes,
replied over thinking.
George, you still have much longer?
Susan asked.
The holy man could not even say a word that the woman immediately began to speak.
At this rate we will not go out ever. Do you know that we have to go in our country house for the weekend? You know what time it is. When you come from? When will you be home?
Assailed her Susan, angry, without Fratta could answer one of his questions.
Good! I understand, dear. Please just stay calm. You know what I am doing. I will come as soon as possible,
he managed to say.
The wife seemed satisfied and greeted him without another word. The man put the phone in its place, puffing a little.
He must have a lot of patience with Susan was being treated by a psychologist for a nervous breakdown and he did not want her mental condition worsened.
Fratta stared at him for a moment his young secretary, undertook to ensure some bills, and then returned near the large window. He stood there impatiently waiting for a phone call, and then it would go away. After a few minutes, he heard the phone ringing again.
It is New York,
announced Alysia.
Ah, at last!
Said George.
Fratta agreed for the latest shipments still pending, and then made an order of a few thousand dollars for the clothing of high fashion.
When he put the phone to his place , he felt very pleased with what he could do, he could now devote himself to his wife and a little to himself. While collecting the cards to put them in the bag, approached Alysia.
But! She is not so bad,
he thought, after observing the curves of a woman's breasts.
Before he had not seen in this as a woman, but only as a talented collaborator.
Where are you tonight, Ale?
He asked so no foothold. He himself was surprised to have them addressed that question.
Who ... I?
, asked Alysia, surprise.
In those three months that she had been there, his main not she had ever spoken so confidently , it was evident that his business had to go really well.
Yes, Ale. I'm asking you if you go to the movies tonight
George had understood that he had to dare.
"No, I do not think I'll go out tonight, and I do not want to go to
