Daria was twenty-seven years old, single, and had recently moved to Houston to start a new career. She wanted to work in fashion and to eventually open her own Western style boutique.
Born into a structured, upper-middle class family with parents who believed that proper planning and diligence were the only keys to success, Daria always had difficulty living in the moment.

Men would question Daria about her behavior, and she would tell them they misunderstood her. She later realized she had been reenacting parts of her tumultuous relationship with Robert and needed help.
