Okay, okay, I will. Paul took the illustrations of the exercises Helen had given him and slid off the therapy bed. She knew he wouldn’t do any of the exercises. Helen Coulter had been a physical therapist long enough to know who is serious about getting better and who is going to be lazy about it -- and Paul was going to be lazy about it. As Paul walked out of sight, Helen browsed through the next day’s appointments on her laptop. Her pulse quickened when she saw Amy Brown’s name. Amy had dislocated her kneecap while playing softball and had been coming in twice a week for therapy. This was her fourth week.

She liked Amy. She was easy to talk to, funny, and intriguing. When Amy told her that she was a lesbian, she didn't think much about it.
