All who see her become obsessed. The man they call The Prince, a railroad and media baron, is no exception. The sleeping woman is placed in a hospital-turned-fortress, studied by doctors and guarded by deadly clockwork automatons that protect her from her frenzied devotees. Only one man is powerful enough to gain access and attempt to wake the dreamer—unleashing a force beyond his comprehension.

Melanie Lamaga

Melanie Lamaga earned a BS in Photography from University of Maryland at Baltimore County, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work has appeared in The Pearl, The Tusculum Review, Fiction International and Zahir. Her first book, a collection of magical realist and weird short fiction, The Evolution of Reptilian Handbags and Other Stories, was published by Metaphysical Circus Press in 2014.
