About this ebook

Teddy knows houses. And this house, the one on Bracken Street, it's a guaranteed, money-in-the-bank sale. Except, maybe, for that one rumor going around that the place is haunted. But Teddy doesn't believe in ghosts. Why would he? What's haunting the house on Bracken Street is hardly a ghost, after all. It's much worse.

Mitchell Nelson is the author of the novel The Cannibal's Daughter and several short stories.

The son had not been to town since his mother’s funeral, at which point Teddy became responsible for the selling of the Bracken house.

He had been glad to take it. It was a beautiful house: four bedrooms and three bathrooms, two stories, a rather stunning library, a vast kitchen equipped with all the latest gadgets. The yard was big and beautiful. The neighborhood was excellent. The local school district was one of the best in Texas. What more could you want?

Teddy’s honeymoon phase lasted about three days. For the first three days he had no showings, but he went to the house nevertheless. He wanted to gloat. He stood in the living
