Chapter 1

Every night he heard the voice… and it scared him. It scared him bad.

I’m cold … it’s dark… I can’t find the light…

Over and over....

Jengo begged his mom to leave the light on but she laughed. You’re a big boy now. You’re starting sixth grade tomorrow. She scrubbed her hand over his short blond hair and hugged him good night. Then she turned off the light.

Jengo didn’t like the dark. Sad thoughts of his missing sister invaded his
