I have been writing in one form or another, poetry, song lyrics, short stories, since around age ten. But it is not until recently that I began to write a full length manuscript. It has taken me time to feel confident enough to publish my work and I am constantly learning new things. Creating something from your imagination has always been a wondrous thing to me. I have always loved to make up stories and as a child I would create worlds to play in that I often shared with my friends. As an adult my imagination still conjures new worlds, but unfortunately I don't get to play in them any more; rather I just put pen to paper, or of more recent, fingers to keyboard, and write. My childhood adventures still thrive in my mind and the streets that I played in and the legends I learned about my home city of Aberdeen in Scotland, have been a big influence on my writing. For me writing is one of the best things to do, it helps me clear my head and I sincerely believe it's good for my soul as well as my spirits. All these lands that my imagination creates I can immortalise and revisit, and the best thing is that others do it too; I love nothing more than losing myself in a good book! I can happily read for hours and think nothing of it. So when I started to write myself I found I was shocked to discover all these characters coming to life on the pages in front of me. I currently live in Fife, Scotland with my partner, practically hubby, and my two crazy black and white cats, who serve as wonderful muses. I still regularly visit my home town for inspiration and also to visit family.

    The sparkling lights gathered rainbows around her head.

    Stars echoed in the night sky above.

    Her face awash with shadows,

    Her chest full of leaps and tumbles, as nightfall stood before her.

    His tall frame and light eyes watching her expressions.

    She had never seen such splendour, not even in the twinkling lights of winter.

    His movement slow, yet steady;

    Tentatively he unfolded a velvet wing, awash with bright stars.

    As she clasped her small hands in his, he guided her with his celestial wings,

    Pulling her into the moonlit shadows to meet his caresses.

    The night surrounds her now, like a dream.

    His wings folding around her, washing away all loneliness.

    He pulls her close letting the warmth of the moon fill her heart.

    All too soon the sun begins to rise,

    And the moon starts to fade from her heart.

    The night's shade begins to dim as the glimpse of the first rays appear,

    Washing away his deep dark purple shadows.

    His grip grows weaker and his warmth dissolves from her reach.

    He whispers softly as the first rays stretch golden, amber light across the
