*Here are a few suggestions about establishing your meditation practice:
(1) Find a familiar and comfortable place where you will not be disturbed, including in front of your PC if you so desire. A comfortable couch, chair, or anywhere outside in nature (accompanied by your electronic device) should definitely provide the quietness and serenity you need.
(2) Deep breathing will be an important part of becoming relaxed. Take the time necessary to breathe and become centered.
(3) Allow your meditation practice ample time to develop and flourish. Be patient. Every second spent in the silence moves you forward on your spiritual path.
You are now prepared to begin your 28-day e-program
of spiritual rehabilitation. Thank you for displaying
the courage, insight and willingness required to affect
change. Our prayers are with you. We visualize
your successful completion of E-Spiritual Rehab.
GIVING UP
WEEK 1, DAY 1
GIVING UP ON BEING SEPARATED FROM YOUR HIGHER POWER
Your real spiritual life begins the moment that separation from your Higher Power ends. You were meant for alignment with something greater than yourself. Becoming one with the universe restores your rightful place in the flow of life. The journey back to spiritual health begins with an admission that you are now separated. Restoring your spirituality requires the daily practice of prayer and meditation. When you become reconnected with your Higher Power through these practices, you will discover serenity, purpose, peace and hope.
Today you will meditate by using THE FOUR BECOMINGS
.
Find a comfortable place where you will not be disturbed, with your electronic device close at hand. You may also sit in front of your PC. Now, please read this Bible verse for today's meditation:
Ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened unto you.
(Matthew 7:7). Repeat this verse one time out loud.
Now close your eyes
BECOME RELAXED— Take time to breathe: Do 3 separate deep breaths in, three deep breaths out. Inhale deeply each time for at least 5 seconds through your nose. Now exhale slowly each time at least 10 seconds through your open mouth. Sit quietly for at least 3 minutes after completing your breathing exercise.
BECOME FOCUSED— Clear your mind of all extraneous thoughts. Concentrate on a word of your choice; (i.e.
peace,
harmony,
love,
joy"). Repeat this word at least 10 times. Sit with this word in the silence for 3 minutes.
BECOME ALIGNED— Remember today's Bible verse: Ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened unto you.
(Matthew 7:7). Become open and receptive to the silence. Have no expectations. You are here to simply experience being alone with your Higher Power, in whatever form that may take. Open your hands and place them palms up on your lap. Point your fingertips upward. Be at peace for at least 3 minutes. Remain still for as long as you want.
Now, open your eyes and read these sacred words that your Higher Power speaks only to you:
I AM here. I AM always here. Never doubt My Presence. I AM closer than your hands or feet. I AM here within you. I conceived you and I AM residing forever at your core. Therefore, you can never really distance yourself from Me. Yes, you may occasionally choose separation. You forget our oneness. You set out on another path, one that may appear more attractive. You deem people, financial or professional situations and countless other distractions more important than our relationship. I understand your humanity and planned for it. You are allowed the gift of free will. I give you the freedom to travel any path you choose. But though you may temporarily leave Me, I never leave you. I AM a constant and steadfast presence that patiently awaits your eventual return. When you come back to Me, I do not admonish or judge you. We can never be completely or eternally separated. At the very least, we become reunited when you make your earthly transition into My Kingdom. Then, as we once again meld gently into oneness, I gather you into My loving arms. I carry you back home to the heaven from whence you came. I was there for you at the beginning and I AM here for you at the end of days. I always wait patiently for you to acknowledge and bond with Me. I love you, My child. I love you.
BECOME GRATEFUL— Your time in prayer and meditation is almost at an end. It is time to offer gratitude for this time alone with your Higher Power. Do not be afraid to say whatever may be in your heart at this moment. Know that you will be heard. You have now begun establishing a connection to the Spirit within. Express thanks to your Higher Power for this first step toward alignment.
