Matt Sorensen

Matt Sorensen is a pseudonym. It's taken from my Danish grandfather's first name (Matthias) and my grandmother's maiden name (Sorensen). They were proud, hardworking immigrants like the ones talked about in chapter 5 of my book "In the Bowl of Night." I was born in 1933 and served in the Navy during the Korean War. I write technical articles under my real name, Paul Honore', and fiction under my pseudonym. People ask me. "Why?" It's explained in my Smashwords interview.

Scow Truck Episode-3, A Tight Squeeze - Matt Sorensen

    Foreword

In the StarTrek television series, the star ship Enterprise was constantly getting stopped in its course by some kind of mysterious force. The force always turned out to be at the command of an alien intelligence. I suppose the point was that as we venture from our own planet, we might encounter intelligences superior to our own. Of course, it wouldn't seem proper for the intrepid crew of the Enterprise to remain outclassed. Kirk, Spock and the others always managed to reason their way out of the dilemma, proving once again that humankind is master of the universe. A Tight Squeeze is a parody of such a plot, with a passing nod to the Borg and the all-powerful cyborg, Gort, from the motion picture The Day The Earth Stood Still.
