He carefully wrapped the leather cuffs around her wrists- testing them to make sure they didn’t cut off her circulation. Her breasts heaved with each breath.

He pushed the hair from her face. Do you like this? he whispered.

She turned at the sound of his voice. The blindfold eliminated all the light in the room so she could only sense his presence.

    "Yes, Master," she groaned.

    * * *

Elizabeth stared at the picture. The man’s hands were tied above his head in an intricate knot, but by the look of longing on his face and the erection he sported in his pants, he seemed to enjoy it.

Blood rushed to her cheeks and between her legs. She really shouldn’t be looking at these kinds of books at work, even if she was on break. She glanced behind her. Good. No one else was around.

Kinbaku- the Japanese art of bondage. Elizabeth wasn’t even sure why she had the book, but she found it tucked away at the bottom of a box. A relic of a life she couldn’t remember. Well, her parents hadn’t found it- that was certain. They probably would’ve freaked!

    Hey Ellie!

Elizabeth practically jumped out of her skin and shoved the bondage book under another more respectable romance novel before turning around.

You scared me, Elizabeth said as Cathy walked toward her.

The tall red head shrugged and eyed the pile of books spread across the table. Those don’t look like accounting books to me.

Heat rose to Elizabeth’s cheeks and she smoothed her hands over her gray skirt. I can relax during lunch, right?

Of course. I’m giving you a hard time, Cathy said and plopped in a chair. You hear the big news?

Elizabeth shook her head. You know how our department is.

Cathy nodded, a secretive smile crossing her lips as she pulled out her lunch. Really? I thought you’d be the first to know. Mr. Mustang is looking for a new personal accountant for all three casinos. Turns out the old one did something illegal and the books need a major clean up.

That sounds serious, Elizabeth said and pushed a piece of lettuce around on her plate. All three? It’ll probably go to Simon. He’s been here the longest.

    Cathy shrugged. You never know.

Elizabeth shook her head. She did know. Mr. Mustang, the casino’s owner, would hire the person with the most experience- not an accountant fresh off her MBA. Not to mention Elizabeth only passed the certified public accountant exam a month before! But with Cathy it was usually no good to say so. Instead, Elizabeth just nodded.

What would you do if you got to work with him? Cathy asked, her blue eyes glazing over.

Elizabeth shook her head. While Cal Mustang was gorgeous, with straight black hair and dark almond shaped eyes, the billionaire was completely unattainable. He didn’t even date- at least not publicly. Sure, she’d dreamed of him whisking her away, but stuff like that only happened in movies. It never happened to her.

I’d do my job and hope I didn’t screw up, she answered truthfully. But I’d also daydream about making out with him as often as I could, she thought to herself.

Cathy groaned into her diet coke. Sure you would. And if he took you home you’d probably straighten up the place before tucking him in for the night. Don’t you ever have any fun?

Elizabeth froze. The hint of a memory nudging at her mind. A man, looming over her with a thick wooden paddle in his hand. A handsome face and bright enticing eyes. In the shadows of her memory that man could be Cal Mustang.

Hey, Ellie, you feeling alright? Cathy asked and shook her arm.

Elizabeth glanced at her friend. The daze of something barely remembered fading from her mind. Yeah, sorry. I just thought I might have realized something.

Cathy’s eyes softened and she nodded. You still don’t remember much?

Rubbing her head, Elizabeth smiled. Not everything. It’s fine. The doctor’s say I may remember eventually and I may not- it just depends.

Cathy raised a sculpted eyebrow as she pulled her sandwich into bite-sized pieces. On what? The weather? Magic?

Elizabeth smiled and tucked a strand of hazelnut hair behind her ear. Well, we are in Las Vegas. Who knows?

Cathy, who was too practical to believe in anything like that, shook her head. Well, it doesn’t make sense to me, but I’m not a doctor. Maybe the past isn’t important anyway. The future is what you should be worrying about.

Great. This conversation again. "My future looks good. I’m actually looking for a better apartment at the moment. I’m not going to live with a roommate
