About this ebook
Valerie Boever
Valerie Boever was born in Marinette, Wisconsin. She is oldest of four children. Val spent her early childhood and grade school years in Illinois. During much of that time her family lived on five acres with lavish landscaping. This country home provided endless activities for active imaginative children, and fostered a lifetime appreciation for the beauty of nature, trees and flowers. It was during this time her love for dogs developed, with the adoption of several, including a malamute.

Thank You
Thank you to Marthy Johnson, editor of Copyediting Services. Working with Marthy was a joyful experience.
Many thanks, of course, to Evan Swensen, of Publication Consultants, for considering my manuscript and guiding me through the process. I am grateful for his knowledge.
To my illustrator Silver, who captured my imagination and brought it to life.
Most of all, thank you to Margaret; her parents, Judy and Sam; and her brothers, Casey, Alex, Ross, and Scott, who inspired the story.
Champions of my dream are my sister, Regina, dear friends, and Kathleen Matthews.
