THE TRUTH IS…

Bella was shaking as she saw Emmy holding her bracelet. She didn’t know how to explain everything to Emmy, not when everything is already so complicated. She only knew that she had to or else they’ll be in even worse danger than they already are.

I’m….I’m sorry, Bella said, crying. I can explain.

You better. Emmy said. Because I’m seriously prepared to call the police right now. I knew it! Emmy took a deep breath, fighting the tears herself. When I saw this bracelet, I knew I have already seen it before but I just couldn’t comprehend when and all this time…all this time...

Please, Emmy, listen to me.

What have you got to say for yourself, Bella? Emmy said through gritted teeth. I trusted you! All this time, I trusted you, and what? You put my daughter’s life in danger! She scoffed. You make me sick!

Bella was crying even harder now. Please, She said, Please just listen to me.

Emmy crossed her arms and took a deep breath. Go on. She said sarcastically. Tell me what I need to know.

Bella took a deep breath. The truth is it was me who left those…those boxes...

And why? Emmy cut her off.

I had to. She said. I didn’t want you, Charlize, or Daniel to get hurt, believe me. I didn’t know it would come to this.

You didn’t know it would come to this but you were seriously threatening our lives?! What the hell?

It wasn’t me. She said. I mean…Ashley just asked me to...

Ashley? So, it’s really her? Why is she so mad at me? What did I ever do to her?

It’s not you. It’s Caleb. She said. She just thought that because Caleb chose to work with your dad, then you’d be in her way, and…and she really didn’t want that. She had this…this whole plan.

This is getting confusing.

Em, Ashley hates Caleb. She hated him ever since…ever since Marissa died. We’re all cousins and Marissa’s parents have always treated us like their own daughters. One day, they even gave us bracelets that resembled the one that Marissa owned. Her mom…her mom made us promise that we would all take care of one another, especially when worse comes to worst…and Ashley took that to heart.

Emmy then remembered the vision she once had about a woman giving two girls bracelets that resembled that of her daughter’s.

I’m giving you this as a sign that you’re my daughters, too. I know how much you love your cousin, and I’m so thankful for that. Please, please promise me that whatever happens, you would take care of her…that you would take care of one another, okay?

Yes, yes of course.

Anything for each other?

And, even if we’re not often together, we’d all protect one another. That’s a promise.
