About the Author
Introduction
You are not alone! As you walk along the journey of your life with Jesus, you are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses,
generations of Christ followers cheering you on and praying for your success.
Christ followers need encouragement. Daily life can be hectic or dull, stressful or distracting, mundane, ordinary, or downright challenging. Any of these conditions can pull you off center, making it difficult to keep the faith in your journey with Jesus. You need coaching, instruction, and mentoring. You need encouragement.
Minute Motivators for New Believers is a source of encouragement and inspiration for men and women of any age who have chosen to place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am praying that these encouraging words will give you the hope, reassurance, and boldness you need to be completely faithful in your walk with God.
You are loved!

Focus on his presence.
timerpicLet us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
—Hebrews 4:16
PRESENCE
Presents cannot take the place of presence. In other words, your gifts, whether they are trinkets or treasures, cannot replace your face-to-face time with others. Children know it. Spouses know it. Parents know it. But sometimes we don’t get it. They would rather have us than the things we can give them. Unless…Unless we have conditioned them to look for the presents instead of our presence.
Like the children who meet their father after every business trip with the greeting, What did you bring me this time?
It’s not that we shouldn’t bring gifts to our loved ones if we have been absent. Or if we have visited a special place without them, but thought about them longingly while we were there. Such mementoes can be meaningful.
But our gifts never take the place of face time with those who are important to us. Come to think of it, God enjoys our presence too. Imagine that—the God of the universe, looking forward to our presence! That’s probably why he has invited us to come to him—boldly,
as one writer put it (Hebrews 4:16, KJV). He promises that when we come, we will find mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. Mercy and grace—outstanding presents
for coming into his presence.
Live with eternity in view.
timerpicGod is the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy.
—Isaiah 57:15, NJKV
ETERNITY
Mell Lazarus’ comic strip Momma has entertained readers for more than four decades. Momma is a nagging mother who is always trying to prod her children to do better. In one entry, a man approaches Momma and says, Mrs. Hobbs, I am going to pop the eternal question: Will you marry me?
Momma answers, No.
To which he responds, Can you at least say ‘maybe’?
Momma’s final comment is: No, I don’t give temporary answers to eternal questions.
Life here on earth is a
