Billie Sue Mosiman
Billie Sue Mosiman published 13 novels with New York major publishers and recently published BANISHED, her latest novel. THE END
A light screamed out of the night sky and hit the ground hard enough to shake the cabin from foundation to rooftop. The object falling within the blinding light vaporized seconds after impact. Several shadowy beings were thrown clear of the explosion, but were hardly affected as water from the swamp rushed into the crater turning it to mud.
Parson Grantham fell to the hardwood floor of the cabin, knocking his head on a table leg in the little kitchen. He’d gotten a glass of chocolate milk to drink before bed. There was a puddle of it all over the floor, on the front of his pajamas, and dripping from his hair. He pushed up and said, What the hell!
When the cabin stopped shaking, he climbed to his feet and ran for his pants hanging on the chair back in the bedroom. He pulled them on over his pajama bottoms, slipped his
