Chapter One

Winnie’s face was bright red with embarrassment. She was glad her grandmother was on the other end of the telephone and unable to see that her normal calm façade had crumbled away. Oh, I’m so sorry, Grandma, she apologized. When I set up that profile on the dating site, I must not have been thinking and put in your email address instead of mine.

It was fine to have been named after her grandmother, Young Winnie loved Old Winnie, but she knew exactly what had happened when setting up her profile. When she clicked on the email field for those interesting in contacting her, the computer had popped up several possible choices of address and she had simply chosen her grandmother’s instead of her own, but entirely by accident.

It’s fine, dear, I didn’t read any of them except for the first. She paused a moment and Winnie didn’t know what to say. Then her grandmother said, "I must say, he seemed intensely interested in you."
