Dick Allan

Dick Allan is a pen name. I'm PG13; he's Adults Only. He's my alter ego. Whereas I'm a little shy and repressed, he most certainly is not. Whereas I tend to take things seriously, he does not. I have a bizarre sense of humour, and so does he. (Well we're both me so we're alike in many ways.). I grew up on fairy tales and sword and sorcery; he skewers the tropes of the genres and fills them with outlandish, explicit sexual situations. Welcome to his world. Enjoy.

In the morning Erectus woke up in his tent with an erection, and a smile on his face. Yes, this was definitely a cushy job, with the added benefit of fantastic sex with a ravishingly beautiful young woman every night. And he hadn't been bothered by any genies for over two weeks. He let out a huge, contented sigh, then got out of bed to tend to his not-very-strenuous duties.

After a hearty breakfast and a discussion with the foreman, Erectus went out to the site as usual to get the crews started on their tasks for the day. After everybody was busy at their assigned jobs, Erectus was heading for the overseers tent with the foreman when something grabbed his arm from behind.

Erectus spun around to see an old crone, ancient and withered beyond anything he had seen from this close before. Thin and dirty, with wrinkles as deep as a mummy's, her dusty dress in tatters, she looked like she had just crawled out of a hole in the desert. She was right in his face, so close he could smell her breath, like hot wind blowing over scorched sand.

For a couple of seconds she stared at him, holding him in place with eyes like pebbles. Then she pointed at him and said in a thin, dry voice that threatened to crack, You. You're the one who set her free. You are responsible for all that she does. Her crimes rest on your shoulders.

Erectus had encountered his share of crazy sages before, with their vague threats of doom that could mean almost anything, but this old woman was direct and specific, and far more personal than any other he'd ever heard. Erectus had no idea what she was talking about, and the foreman walking with him looked startled and confused.

Erectus snorted. You're crazy. I don't know what you're talking about. You're not supposed to be here. Go away.

He turned away from her and carried on to the table that held the drawings. He glanced back and saw her following him in a slow shuffle. He sighed and detoured to commandeer a muscular laborer. He pointed at the old woman, who had changed direction so she was heading straight for him, and said, Give this woman a drink and some food, then send her on her way to town.

Yes sir. The youth intercepted the woman, took her by one arm and guided her forcefully to the mess tent.

As Erectus went about his business for the rest of the day there was no room in his thoughts for the old woman and he forgot about her.

The next day, as he headed to the mess tent at lunchtime he saw a skinny old woman hanging around there. When he got closer he thought she looked oddly familiar, though he couldn't place where it was he had seen her. He was about twenty feet away when it hit him; it was the crazy woman who had accused him of something yesterday morning, though she wore a much cleaner dress and her age-ravished features didn't look nearly as bad now as he remembered.

He didn't want to take a closer look at her, so he tried to ignore her as he walked past, but he flicked his eyes to her just once when he was close and she grabbed his gaze and held it to hers for a long second. Her eyes were deep brown and they no longer looked like pebbles. They were full of accusation. He tore his eyes away and kept walking.

As he went by she said to him in a low voice that was not nearly as dry and thin as before, You haven't seen the last of me.

That's too bad, Erectus muttered, wondering what she wanted. He glanced back a few paces later but she was gone.

That evening after dinner, when he went to his tent to take his customary nap to prepare for the coming of Areola, he was surprised to find the old woman sitting on his bed.

He thought about calling someone to escort her out, but she was just an old woman. There was no reason to be afraid of her. What are you doing here?

    I need your help.

Erectus didn't say anything, he just raised his eyebrows.

    And you need mine.

He had to laugh at that. What can you do for me?
