The Six Gods
Sanzki gripped Trinqki’s hand tightly as they stood at the entrance to the Temple of the Six Gods. It’d been a few weeks since she’d last been here. Izowki brought her over every full moon and she’d never been here without her mother. Privately, she was nervous about going in alone. Trinqki was only escorting her to the door.
The Temple sat in the center of Fizklor and was where every mage went to learn which god has blessed them — and therefore learn which element their magic naturally aligned with. The Temple was the most ornate building in town, its exterior carved with the stories of the six gods. Bright paint had been used to decorate the carvings with loving care and the front door was big and plated with gold. Magic made the ground around it snow-free. Flowers bloomed year-round in the temple garden and large crystal chunks were strewn artfully on the ground. A simple yet elegant water fountain stood near the front doors, and a few wind chimes attached to the overhang sang in the breeze.
Magic was a gift from the gods to those whose ancestors mingled with them in ancient times, before the gods had retreated to the heavens. Izowki had impressed on Sanzki the need to pay respects to your family’s god so that xe would not abandon your family. Hiklir had blessed Izowki and was most
