About this ebook

Jamie is not happy. Everyone in his family treats him like a baby, even though he's six. Then, there’s a terrible accident at school, and two of his baby teeth are knocked out. Over the summer holidays, his new teeth grow and grow and grow. He goes back to school for the new term with teeth a tiger would be proud of, and no one is going to mistake Jamie for a baby again.

Occasionally, Brian noticed Jamie. Then he would pick up Jamie up, turn him upside down like a salt cellar, and shake him to see if any bits fell off.

Sam, the next oldest, was ten. Because he wasn't as big as Brian, he had come up with a different way of making his little brother feel small. He was a master of misleading information and was always playing jokes. Jamie, he would say, if you brush your teeth every day, you will wear then out and have to wear false teeth like Gramps. Or, Dad actually prefers salt in his coffee. Or, his favourite, Did you know toilet paper is only for girls?

Harry was the closest in age to Jamie, too close in fact. Just one school year separated them and only
