About this ebook
Mike Blanch was sitting on his couch when there was a hard knock on the door, and his buddy Ralph Scarpatti came running in screaming, "Put on the news." I looked at him and asked, "Was the door locked?" "No, it wasn't. I came in through the fucking door, didn't I? Do you have a couple of cold once." As I put on the TV and put on the local news, Ralph screamed, "Not that one, the one ten channels further up." As Ralph said that, he put two cold beers on the table. Then when the news came on, it was all about a space craft that had landed in our city, and in our own park. I could see detective Al Laurence helping the police controlling the crowd. I got out my cell phone, and dialed his number, and I could see him answering my call. "Should Ralph and I come down to help?" "Yeah, come down right away," said Al and both Ralph and I hurried down, and took his car down to the park. When we came to the park, the space craft emitted a strong yellow light that enveloped both Ralph and myself. Coming home, all three of us, Ralph took out three beers from my fridge, and as we looked at the TV there was a knock on my door. As Al was about to stand up to open, I stopped him and said that Ron Wells is standing outside with a loaded gun waiting for one of us to open the door. So, Al phoned in to the office and asked to get three cruisers to this address. When Ron Welsh heard the police cars, he started to run down the stairs and as he came out past the parked vehicles, one of the cruisers ran over him. Checking out how this Ron could be out free, and where did he get his gun. It turned out that a known criminal in custody had together with an Arabic family, the Mohammed infused the criminal part of US with several billion dollars to move the war to the inside if the US. With some magic Ralph and I had been given when we were lit by the yellow light. Another Valentine Day Massacre were stopped before it had a chance to start.

As you know, my name is Mike Blanch, and by now you ought to know everything there is to know about me. And about my best buddy of course, Ralph Scarpatti, still living in the apartment below mine. We, the two of us, had some screwed up mental abilities for several months. Then one day they were all gone. I couldn't even light the fireplace by snapping my fingers anymore. Had to use some old paper that I put under the fire logs to make them burn. Although I only had these abilities for a short while, maybe close to four months, I surely miss them.
For my new readers. I'm thirty-five years old and a confirmed bachelor. Standing a few inches above six feet. I'm a white guy, Caucasian, blond blue eyes and I prefer to keep my face well shaven. My friends say that I have an athletic body. Ralph Scarpatti, as I said before lives in the apartment below mine. He is around my own age, and might be an inch or two shorter than myself, and by the way, he is a black guy. Short cut dark wavy hair, and the funniest eyes. They are light amber. Never seen eyes like that before. When I made a search on my computer, it told me there weren't any eyes like that. Human eyes could be either blue, green, gray or brown and have different shades of those four colors, however not amber. But then of course, I have always known in my mind that there is something screwy about my friend Ralph Scarpatti.
The two of us are working for the local police department. Helping to solve crimes, like the old cold case files, together with our good friend Detective Al Laurence. He would be around the upper forties, or maybe in the lower fifties. A few pounds’ overweight, but he has the most intelligent gray eyes I have ever seen. Sitting here on my couch, not sure if I should turn on the tube for some news, or just sit here,
